Junta of Castilla y León and ADEuropa

ADEuropa Foundation

Institutional Presentation

imagenCastilla y León has undergone tremendous social and economic transformation over the last two decades. This evolution has led to an important change in the role of Castilla y León in the European context, leaving the condition of "Objective 1" region and joining the group of "Objective 2" (Competitiveness and Employment Objective) regions at the beginning of 2007.

In 1986, when Spain joined the European Union, the GDP per capita of Castilla y León was around 66% of the European average. Nowadays, the estimation of our GDP per capita is nearly 95% of the European average.

The present situation opens up a wide range of opportunities for companies and other economic agents from Castilla y León, but it also involves, at the same time, very important challenges that must be tackled in the short and medium term in order to be competitive among the most developed regions in Europe.

In order to achieve these objectives, our region needs to keep on focusing on innovation and international competitiveness, in which international cooperation plays a very important role.

ADEuropa Foundation was created with the objective of supporting the improvement in competitiveness of companies and agents of Castilla y León through actions and programmes that promote and facilitate international cooperation at different levels.

ADEuropa Foundation will foster the implementation of international cooperation programmes, providing the companies of Castilla y León with all the available tools to facilitate the development of added-value joint ventures, especially those in collaboration with key international agents.

Initially ADEuropa Foundation will focus on the development of specific initiatives related to Spanish, European and international R&D & innovation programmes.

ADEuropa Foundation will actively work to promote and facilitate the participation and involvement of different public and private agents of Castilla y León in Spanish, European and international programmes and initiatives related to R&D & innovation. These programmes are not only the main source of funding for these kinds of activities, but they also offer a unique opportunity to collaborate with the most important agents at Spanish and European level, working in highly innovating competitive fields.

Within this strategy, ADEuropa Foundation will promote systematic activities for the generation of added-value business projects related to strategic fields for Castilla y León through the development of specific programmes for inward investment.

Therefore, ADEuropa Foundation intends to be a useful and accessible public tool for companies and other agents from Castilla y León, facilitating their participation in international cooperation programmes and activities, and providing personalised support in their development.
