BEFORE project, approved in the R&D European Union 6th Framework Programme, and coordinated by ADEuropa Foundation (part of Castilla y León regional Government) carried out a study visit to Castilla y León the 20th y 21st of November 2007. In such meeting, that took place in Boecillo Technology Park (Valladolid), they explained the two best practises of the project presented by Castilla y León Technology Parks and by the Regional Energy Entity. They also visited the Technology Centres CARTIF and CIDAUT located in Boecillo Technology Park.
BEFORE project objective is to perform a comparative analysis (benchmarking) of efficient support instruments for R&D in geographical areas with significant demographic imbalances. It will also develop a panel of impact indicators regarding the R&D support policies in these regions, and will carry out technological foresight studies in five strategic fields for the regions taking part in the project (aeronautics, biotechnology, technologies of information and communication, renewable energies and transport). Apart from ADEuropa Foundation, representing Castilla y León, the consortium is composed by the main European development agencies and specialised institutes in this field: Brandenburg (Germany), West Romania, Mid Sweden, South Estonia and Manchester University.
