Four experts in the structural funds management in Poland, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria explained the new European Union financial perspectives for the period 2007-2013 and how will the new member countries affect the regional economies.

The seminar objective was to inform and train Castilla y León companies and institutions regarding the new scene of the European Union Structural Funds for the next seven years and the possibilities to take part in this process, as well as the challenges that should be tackled in the new programming period.

ADEuropa Foundation has designed a programme that includes the most interesting topics regarding the EU 2007-2013 Cohesion Policies and the role of the Structural Funds and the European Cohesion Fund, focusing in countries like Poland, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, in order to raise awareness and to approach Castilla y León companies to the new perspectives of the European Union, informing about the tools, the programmes’ strategic areas and the business opportunities that may increase their international presence.

According to the seminar, Castilla y León has the necessary means to turn the enlargement into an opportunity instead of a threat, especially if we foster the innovation, the entrepreneurial spirit, and the knowledge economy by means of the research and the new technologies.

The seminar continued in the evening with personalised meetings with the speakers aimed at dealing in depth specific aspects related to the efficient and beneficial management of the Structural Funds in the new European Union countries.
